International tourist mecca, St. Tropez's mythical name has played a large part in the renown of the whole Côte d' Azur.
The world's most rich and famous have found escape in St. Tropez for centuries.
Icons
Brigitte Bardot and artist Henri Matisse helped spread word of the unbridled, isolated
luxury of France's southern peninsula.

Nice, the capital of the French Riviera, is a fantastic city with an infectious atmosphere in the old part and a perfect base to
explore the surrounding area, with three possible routes:
French Riviera: From Nice we can go west along the stunning Cote d'Azure visiting places like
Cannes,
St. Tropez and the
beautiful islands of Îles d’Hyères. Cannes sits in a beautiful bay and is famous for its many festivals.
St Tropez, once a isolated fishing village, is now a popular spot with the rich and famous but still manages to retain its
Provencal charm outside the crowded summer months. The
Îles d’Hyères are four small but steep sided islands near Toulon.
They have a colourful past from Greek and Roman colonisation to a base for pirates.
They are now a nature reserve and a popular spot for the French due to the beautiful island walks and turquoise waters.
Spring and autumn are a perfect time to visit outside the busy summer months.
There is good diving along this coast where underwater photography competitions are held annually.
Italian Riviera: Alternatively we can go east from Nice towards glamorous
Monaco and the Italian Riviera. Monaco needs no introduction with it's famous casino, Formula One race through the narrow streets,
beautiful gardens, opulent palaces and stylish boutiques. It's definitely worth a stop! We then reach the Italian Riviera where
there are many fantastic places to explore such as the lovely town of
San Remo. San Remo is famous for it's flowers and the deep blue sea.
The old town has perched houses, steep streets, colourful flowerbeds and little squares.
Corsica: A third option from Nice is
Corsica. Corsica is a 100 mile
ferry crossing from the mainland.
Corsica is renown for its unique landscape - hidden coves, stunning waterfalls, sea-swept coastline, spiky outcrops and plunging canyons.
